We live in a voice-activated kingdom

At Seek First we simply want to encourage you to not only know Jesus personally, but to also seek His Wisdom. So you too can hear a voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues, . . . [because] salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for his judgments are true and just. . .”

Have you ever read about the Seven Churches in Revelation to determine how they may apply to you? I did. Revelation 2:2-4 I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false. I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name's sake, and you have not grown weary. But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love

I see now that it is through my struggles that I finally made peace with God, not through man or religion, but through our Lord Jesus Christ. It is there that I found hope that does not put me to shame, because God’s Love has been poured into my heart through the Holy Spirit, not by some other means. A Return to My First Love: My Testimony is a roadmap of how I made my way back, reviving the hope placed within me by my Creator.

God’s Word declares that we have weapons of warfare that have divine power to destroy strongholds. “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.” I am not only to be tearing down false Strongholds, but I am also to be building a new one.

Most every Christian can quote the scripture, “judge not lest you be judged,” found in Matthew 7:1. Yet, judgement is often on our lips, either against ourselves or against others.

Death and Life are in the power of the tongue. What does the Word say about the words we speak?

So, the good news is — you do not have to look to religion, a church, or a man to bring a “word” or a little bit of heaven. It’s already in you. The not-so-good news is that you cannot look to religion, a church, or a man to grow it. You are the one and only steward of your soul, and you can never pass that responsibility to another person, no matter what agreement the two of you may reach.

What is Seek First? As odd as it may seem, it makes sense to start with what Seek First is NOT. It is not our mission at Seek First to create another online community, nor do we wish to start another local church or assembly. We are also not here to provide another sermon series, set of opinions, or to create division, as we are not out to compete, win, or persuade anyone of our personal mission or vision. We are simply here to encourage others to SEEK FIRST GOD’S KINGDOM.

I see now that God’s glory is heavy, but it is not just heavy with love, it also heavy with truth and justice, and I do not believe that you can have one without the other.

While I believe that obedience is required for my salvation, I do not believe that God ever meant for His gift of salvation to feel like a burden to me. I do not believe that He wants me to feel like I have to “work” for something that He freely gives to me.  Therefore, I see now that my obedience is required, not to please Him, but to SAVE ME.  But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. James 1:22 ESV

I believe that part of my personal pursuit for the Kingdom of God is to obediently share my testimony, and it is my prayer that my voice will simply help you hear the voice of your Heavenly Father more clearly in your own life. I simply want to encourage you to return to seeking first the Kingdom of God in all that you do, so you will not have to be anxious about tomorrow.
